What is Spiritual Psychology?
What is your Approach to Life Coaching ?
My approach rests on the basic premise that we are all Spiritual Beings having a Human experience, therefore my style of life coaching is is a natural extension of the concept of the Spiritual Psychology philosophy and the principles of Humanistic Psychology.
What are some of the Methods are you using ?
I prefer an eclectic approach...
meaning I choose from a variety of methods that have proven most valuable in my experience. In the course of our relationship - or in the course of a session - we will match your needs with the best fitting plan of action. I will always first outline a suggestion and make sure it resonates with you.
Some of the modalities that I work with successfully are:
EFT, Guided Imagery, Hypnosis, Reiki, Bach Flower Remedies, nutritional supplementation
Most of all I will be "resourcing" you that means I inquire about the things that I perceive as holding essential information about you and your issues or desires. What I ask you comes as a result of my active and heart centered listening, a form of perceptive feedback. This process creates awareness and increased knowing of yourself, your wants, your blocks and concerns as well as your potentialities and your uniqueness.
We might also explore some of your history in order to release blocks that make it harder for you to move forward. We are often stuck in irrational beliefs or unresolved hurt that needs to be brought up and out into awareness. If so, we then choose the appropriate means to release outdated mind concepts and replace them with objectivity and your own higher knowing.
I involve goal setting, strategy building and creating accountability to choose your next steps in harmony with your objectives and values, assessing where you see yourself now and where you want to go.
I spend time celebrating your wins with you when you are moving towards closer alignment with your values, talents and life purpose.
Most of all I work on facilitating the deeper understanding that success is not just about our 'doing' but more about our 'being'.
Will I acquire Skills that I can utilize long term ?
Absolutely. In the course of our teamwork you will learn tools and self help strategies that create habits which are to your advantage. You will discover new ways to deal with yourself and others.
What is Reiki ?
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that helps to reestablish energetic balance and harmony. There is no religious belief system attached to Reiki and it can be used on anyone. It helps to relax, reduce stress, aids in positive thinking and promotes healing on many levels.
I use it on occasion as a way to reestablish tranquility and centeredness in a client when in distress or to just to create a most effective platform for our coaching work.
What are the Bach Flower Remedies ?
The Bach Remedies are dilutions of flower material developed by Edward Bach, an English physician and homeopath. If appropriate, I recommend specific Bach Flower Remedies to support an emotional shift inside or plainly to ease the distress of transition.
Out of the 38 different ones -where each one stands for a characteristic state of emotion - I choose a combination of several flowers or just a single remedy, the one that best suits your situation. The remedies come in little dropper bottles and can be obtained at your local health food store. Some of the more commonly used ones are available through my office for you to purchase.
How does your work a s a Nutritionist fit into coaching ?
While you are on your way to create a life of fullness and wholeness, nutrition choices made with awareness and loving self care can lend a significant contribution to promote your mental and psychological advancements through natural biochemical support.
Nutrients can have a powerful impact on our brain biochemistry. As a CN (certified nutritionist ) with twenty years experience I recommend nutritional supplements like vitamins, herbs, whole food substances and other nutrients that you can buy at vitamin shop or even at your local grocer. A combination of well chosen natural supplements can support healthy emotional function so that you’re much better able to withstand challenges, transitions or just your everyday stresses and the feelings that result.
Nutritional needs also become more specific as our bodies are going through physiological stages like menopause, adolescence, aging, weight loss and body reshaping and many others. An overall sense of greater balance, vitality and more restorative sleep may result from a suitable nutrition program.
How is Coaching different from Therapy?
In a therapeutic relationship the therapist is usually considered the expert. The client is called 'patient' and is in need of psychological help. Psychotherapy is - not always- but most often, sought out in order to heal emotional pain, past trauma, dysfunctional behavior and mental illness or diagnosed conditions.
Life coaching is not about treating mental illness. Here the client is considered the 'expert' and the source of the highest knowing while the coach facilitates the process of tapping into that source.
People that come for coaching are generally well and have chosen coaching because they want to create change for the better in their lifes. Coaching focuses on creating more of what you want in life, creating fulfillment through living your personal values and stepping into your highest potential. All that happens in a spirit of collaboration and teamwork with client and coach working as equal partners. Healing and release are most welcome aspects, although on a much lighter note than in therapy usually as part of transgressing blocks.
What if we find out that life coaching does not do it for me ?
Usually we can decide that early on. If however we find out at a later point that coaching, or coaching with me, does not serve you at this time I will gladly provide you with suggestions of where you might find help that matches your needs.
How long does a coaching relationship usually last ?
Your choice. From individual sessions to many months.
Generally clients choose to enjoy support for their growth on an ongoing basis. The nature of growth and active personal evolvement brings about new and often trying challenges.
Session time becomes for many of my clients the juncture of the week where they may look forward to receiving unconditional support to work through the unexpected as well as through the anticipated.
What if I feel like stopping ?
Once we've completed the agreed upon coaching term I'll send you off with lots of light ahead for all you want, asking only to get notified about your wins in the future. You also have the option to reduce the level of coaching to twice a month for maintenance.
Do I have to commit to a certain amount of sessions ?
Not at all. I do encourage a commitment of 1 to 3 month initially as it gets the dynamic between us working up to a most effective level.
